There are
a few fantastic mega-sites on the web in relation to the Aquarium Hobby.
There are many more that come and go, making a big splash as they come
through.
Not Catfish is a fantastic site that is very large and
comprehensive.
It is among the
best sites on
the
web for fish
and is so full of information,
you can spend hours there
and still not realize how much information is on the
site.
I highly
recommend the site to anyone looking to learn more about the hobby
whether expert or beginner. I guarantee you’ll find out something
you didn’t know. |

Original Content (10) |
|
The site
is full of articles that you won’t see anywhere else. (not that it
would take away from the site if you could find them elsewhere) I
think the two strongest areas are the Ichthyology section and the Findex.
The
Ichthyology section will take you through a lot of the deep science
behind the hobby. Anyone who has been in the hobby an long time
can figure themselves a scientist, and this section will help you better
understand the physiology and history of fish. The Findex is the
best online fish guide available. The information is concise and
straight-forward, and nearly every fish you’ll find in a pet store is
listed here. I find it occasionally cumbersome to navigate, but
feel it is easily the best guide available on-line so far. |

Value to the Hobby (9) |
|
This site gives information that you will
probably not fine elsewhere. It will help beginners get a good
start into the hobby and provides assistance through their discussion
forum. The only possible downside would be that the discussion
forum seems a bit un-used (which is the case with most of them on the
net) Certainly this is a site I hope will not disappear as the
person behind it has helped all hobbyists progress in the hobby. |

Design (Visuals/Navigation) (9) |
|
The
site is easy to navigate and visually wonderful. Not Catfish has a
good supply of one of the largest commodities on the internet…images.
They have a great selection of fish photos that will help you better
identify fish you have and fish that you want to get. The grey on
white that is used throughout the site is very interesting to look at
and gives the site a very classy polished feel. |

Overall (9) |
|
This is one of the mega fish sites on the web
for a good reason. It is one of the most informative and best
looking fish sites on the net. I strongly recommend a visit
whenever you have a chance, and plan to spend a couple of hours, and to
return often! |
